Basin
In Minecraft, a basin is a type of exposed cave formation in which Stone and ores are exposed.
Overview[edit | edit source]
Basins can occasionally be mistaken for Chunk Errors because of their random placement, but they are intentionally generated in this manner. Basins can be helpful for players in survival mode, as they generally have exposed Coal and Iron Ore, making them easy to gather early on. At very low altitudes, one may be able to find Redstone Ore in a basin if they are lucky.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- There is a rare chance where basins will generate around a Ravine.
- Basins do not "point" to generated structures like Dungeons and Villages, despite claims that they do.
- Basins can stretch to many places, including ravines, dungeons, and even abandoned mine shafts.
- Basins can appear in any biome type.
