A brown mooshroom is a very rare variant of the original red mooshroom which was added in 1.14. A brown mooshroom can be found if a red mooshroom is struck by lightning either during a thunderstorm or by using a trident with the channeling enchantment.

Behavior

Brown Mooshrooms are passive mobs that can be found in mushroom fields and sometimes on plains. When hit by lightning bolt, it will run around, as a cow would.

Trivia

• It drops all the same items as a red mooshroom, except when sheared, it drops brown mushrooms.
  • In addition, when fed any type of flower, they can be milked with a bowl to make suspicious stew, unlike their red counterpart. You will get a status effect from the suspicious stew depend on the flower you fed on this mob.
  • If struck with lightning, it will turn into a red mooshroom.
  • The mob was initially brought up during a Q&A session on Minecon Live 2018, where @me_shroom on Twitter asked if they could ever be added into the game.^{[citation needed]}
