Buffet Mode is a type of starting world that players can create as of 1.13. It allows players to create different world types using all 3 dimensions. Players can choose either the Overworld, a Nether-like cave or floating islands like the ones in The End, with many different biomes of the player's choice generated in the dimension the player chooses.

In order to create a buffet world, a player must go into the "More options" section when creating a world, and scroll through the different world types until "buffet" pops up. Then, the player must choose a biome and the layout of the world.

All temperatures and naturally generated structures will be the same in accordance to the chosen biome.

World types[edit | edit source]

There are three world types as parts of Buffet Mode:

  • Single Biome: Uses the regular generation settings in the Overworld, with only one biome selected by the Player
  • Caves: Uses generation settings similar to those of The Nether in overworld.
  • Floating Islands: Uses generation settings similar to those of The End out islands in Overworld.
