The compound creator is an Education Edition-exclusive block used in chemistry. It allows over thirty compounds to be created by combining elements. This includes certain items normally available in the game.

It was introduced in version 1.0.27 of Education Edition. At this point, it can be only obtained through creative mode in the Education Edition.

Obtaining[edit | edit source]

A compound creator can be mined with a pickaxe. Mining without a pickaxe is very slow, but the compound creator will still drop as an item.

Usage[edit | edit source]

Using the compound creator opens up a 3×3 grid, where elements can be inserted to create compounds. By inputting the appropriate type and number of elements, the creator will output the component in the slot to the right of the grid. All compound recipes are shapeless, and unlike the crafting table, the stack sizes are taken into consideration. Also, unlike most GUI blocks, the elements are not consumed.
