They can also be obtained by placing a gold ingot into a crafting grid which breaks it down into 9 gold nuggets. Gold nuggets can also be obtained by Smelting gold armor or tools in a furnace.

Uses[edit | edit source]

  • Placing 9 gold nuggets into a 3×3 crafting grid will combine them together to make a gold ingot.
  • Surrounding a Melon Slice or Carrot with eight gold nuggets in a crafting table results in a glistering melon or golden carrot, respectively.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • In some multiplayer servers, gold is either traded or used as currency. It's useful, as it has multiple tiers (81 nuggets = 9 ingots = 1 block).
  • Zombified piglins have a high chance to drop 1–2 gold nuggets when killed. This number is affected by the Looting enchantment.
  • 216 individual gold nuggets are needed to craft a full set of gold armor.
  • Iron Nuggets share the same shape as golden nuggets. The only difference is the direction they face.
  • Piglins like all gold objects including gold nuggets. When given a gold nugget, the piglin will pick it up, look at it for 6 seconds, then take it. It will not give anything in return.
  • Gilded blackstone has a 10% chance of dropping 2–5 gold nuggets when mined.
