Microsoft
Microsoft (a portmanteau of the words "microcomputer" and "software") is an American multinational technology company headquartered in Redmond, Washington. Its best known software products are the Microsoft Windows line of operating systems, the Microsoft Office suite, and the Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge web browsers; its best known hardware products are the Xbox video game consoles and the Microsoft Surface lineup of touchscreen personal computers. It was founded on April 4, 1975 by Bill Gates and Paul Allen.

The middle bit -- "the acquisition" -- is simply referring to the purchase of Minecraft and Mojang for $2.5 billion. Nothing hidden there. To be break-even" isn't to say, Minecraft and Mojang will recoup the full $2.5 billion Microsoft spent on the acquisition. Microsoft officially owns Minecraft and developer Mojang now. Microsoft has officially acquired Minecraft for $2.5 billion after days of chatter about a deal. While there are risks associated with the purchase, strategically Microsoft could do much worse. In many respects, the purchase of Mojang is strategically sound. On November 6, 2014, Microsoft confirmed the $2.5 billion acquisition.
Minecraft creator Markus 'Notch' Persson had issued a statement to fans explaining the decision to sell his studio to Microsoft. Microsoft revealed that it has agreed to purchase Mojang for $2.5 billion. The company claims it can break even on the deal by April 2016.
