Minecraft: PlayStation Vita Edition (also known as PS Vita Edition) is the Legacy Console Edition of Minecraft developed by 4J Studios alongside Mojang Studios for the PlayStation Vita handheld game console. It was based on the PlayStation 3 Edition and had some level of connectivity with the PS3 Edition in that it incorporates Cross-Buy feature and saved worlds could be transfered between the consoles.

It became available for purchase on October 14, 2014 in North America, and the following day in Europe. It had a retail release in stores on November 11 (North America), November 19 (Europe), and November 21 (United Kingdom and Ireland).

PlayStation Vita Edition's final feature update is the Update Aquatic.

Cross-Play[edit | edit source]

Minecraft: PS Vita Edition and all other Sony editions of Minecraft will not receive Cross-Play with the other console/PE/Windows 10 editions due to Sony refusing to make it possible on their consoles. Currently, Sony has not released an official explanation as to why. Many Sony players (as a result of the lack of Cross-Play) are now switching to other versions of the game.
