Minecraft: Xbox One Edition
Minecraft: Xbox One Edition was the Xbox One port of Minecraft Legacy Console Edition developed by 4J Studios[1] prior to the Better Together Update. This edition is built off of the Xbox 360 Edition.[2] The Xbox One Edition was officially released on September 5, 2014.
As of the release of the Better Together Update on September 20, 2017, this edition has since been superseded by Bedrock Edition; the Xbox One Edition is no longer supported, though buying a retail version of the game is still possible and owners of this edition can receive Bedrock Edition for free.
Compared to the Xbox 360 Edition, the Xbox One Edition included larger world sizes of up to 5120×5120 blocks (36 times larger), 18 chunk render distance, amplified worlds, and enhancement offered by the Xbox One.[2]
Features and game modes[edit | edit source]
The Xbox One Edition supports split-screen functionality; up to four players can play in split-screen, as well as the possibility to play eight-person online multiplayer in split-screen. Online multiplayer requires an Xbox Live Gold subscription, and supports voice chat during gameplay. An autosave feature that continually saves the game at certain intervals is also present.
As with the other Legacy Console Editions, the Xbox One Edition has three game modes: Survival, Adventure, and Creative.
DLC[edit | edit source]
The Minecraft: Xbox One Edition currently has over 25 downloadable content packs with prices ranging from $.99 for texture packs, $1.99-$2.99 for skin packs, to $2.99-$3.99 for mash-up packs. This edition also has an Xbox-exclusive Halo Mash-Pack for $3.99. Most of the downloadable content packs can be re-downloaded for free on the Xbox One if a player owns both the Xbox One and the Xbox 360 versions.
On November 24, 2015 Mojang released the Holiday Pack, a bundle of seven "fan-favorite" DLC at the cost of $29.99.[3] This was released to celebrate the Christmas holidays, and it contains the following DLC:

- Texture packs
- Natural
- City
- Fantasy
- Mash-up packs
- Festive

- If a block in Minecraft is approximately 1 meter×1 meter×1 meter, at 26,163,225 square meters; that puts the surface area of the game at 26,163.225 square kilometers, or, 10,101.678 square miles. That is roughly the size of Rwanda (10,169 square miles).
